TAKS Testing and Trolls.

I was really hoping that I would be able to get back to this sooner, but I've had a pretty hectic 6 days.
All through the weekend I was forced to be at my Aunt Mary's lake house and watch my moms husband do renovations (he works in construction).
Monday I had a long night of relaxing for the next day, as we had the TAKS Test on Tuesday. For those of you not familiar with the TAKS, it stands for the Texas Assesment of Knowledge and Skills.

It's much more terrifying than you'd think.

You start taking the test in the third grade, and it doesn't matter whether you pass it or not until the fifth grade, since that's when we need to be able to move on to Middle School. Then it doesn't matter again until the eigth. We had our reading test, and the seventh graders had their writing test. (I actually wasn't worried at all, Mrs. Brooks said that she brags about me and that she has every faith in the world that because of my high expectations for myself, I can do anything I could ever want.) So Tuesday was the test, and we didn't get out of testing until 2:00 because they ran the lunches retarded, but it left me exhausted.

Yesterday I had to make a speech in Speech class. This time I didn't have a chance to get away from the aforementioned Harley, and it was terrifying. I could hear my voice crack and I choked up at least twice. Then I was buried in HW, including an entire History packet, Algebra I, and Spanish. It doesn't sound like much but the history was at least 6 pages.

Today was rather exciting though. We had advisory, which while in it we're supposed to be doing some Anti-Bully program, but our teacher doesn't make us, so we just sit there and talk. My friend Tommy brought six pages of Chuck Norris jokes, all of which were hilarious.

I also had auditions for a play today. It's called Melanie and the Trash Can Troll.

It's actually not as rediculous as it sounds.

I think I did pretty well, and hope to have the part of Mrs. Summerfield. I would absolutely hate to have Vivien's character. She's just an extra person, throughout the entire play, she speaks maybe 30 sentences. In an hour-or-less long play.

Well, I'm exausted. Hopefully tomorrow all my teachers will hate the world and let us sleep.
I can dream, can't I?
